Advisory Council - Important Organizational Changes

To all Advisory Council members,

Please note the following organizational changes:

AC Director:

We were sorry to hear from Joe Podrebarac that he had to resign as AC Director effective May 1st due his promotion to an excluded position. We wish him great success in his new job, and will miss his hard work, insights, and friendship.

In accordance with the AC bylaws, the AC Steering Committee met to identify a replacement to complete Joe's term of office (which ends this year - election to be held at the November 2010 AC meeting).
Both Mark Kohli and Kofi Crentsil offered to serve. After a secret ballot, Kofi was selected by the AC SC to be AC Director. We informed the PIPSC Board of Directors, and they confirmed Kofi's appointment at the May 3 meeting.
We look forward to Kofi's continued enthusiasm, commitment, and thoughtful contributions to the AC.

The result is there is now a vacant position on the AC Steering Committee for representative of the PSLRA 1-2.
An election will be held at the May 29th AC meeting to complete Kofi's term which ends in 2011.

PIPSC Staff:

Catherine Gagnon is on extended leave and we wish her all the best.

Andria Gauvreau has replaced Catherine.
Andria brings to PIPSC years of working experience at another union. She has already shown great initiative in arranging the upcoming AC on May 29th and we wish her much success with PIPSC.

I hope to see you all on Friday May 28th evening at the "Meet & Greet:", as well as at the Saturday AC Meeting.
