February 22, 2013 Deadline - Last Chance to Waive PEO fees
Hundreds of unlicensed federal government engineers have applied for a licence with the Professional Engineers (PEO) over the past weeks!
“Since the announcement by PEO of the application fee waiver, we have seen young engineers, female engineers, and engineers who work in roles with non-traditional engineering job titles like patent examiners, researchers, purchasers, and environmental managers apply for licensure, from a variety of federal government departments,” said Don Burns PIPSC Vice President and PIPSC Engineering Champion.
This a great way to signal to our employer and Canadians that we, as professionals in the public service, take our commitment to protect the public interest seriously.
The application fee waiver of $300 plus HST expires on March 1, 2013. Time is running out. Apply NOW!
To participate, you must contact your PIPSC Engineering Working Group before Friday, February 22, 2013.
Contact Jonathan Fitzpatrick or Tim F. Kirkby with your intention to apply to PEO by March 1, 2013 and work towards your professional engineer licence.
