Dear CFIA S&A member,
Your Bargaining Team has reached a tentative agreement with CFIA on December 17, 2013. It was quite an unexpected turn of event as we had agreed to another mediation session on December 11, in the presence of our nominees from the Arbitration Board. The arbitration was scheduled for February 13 and 14, 2014. See Bargaining Update no 13 for more details on the circumstances at http://www.pipsc.ca/portal/page/portal/website/groups/cfia-sa/121813
You will find enclosed the list of the changes: some have been summarized and others are provided in details, such as the changes to the Severance Pay Article.
Your Bargaining Team is recommending the acceptance of the Tentative Agreement as we believe this is the best deal that can be achieved under these circumstances.
A vote in favour of the Tentative Agreement will mean it will become the new collective agreement. A vote against it, will mean you are asking your Bargaining Team to go to arbitration and let a third party decide on our behalf the content of the collective agreement.
Your electronic voting key must be used by 12 p.m. (EST) on February 12, 2014.
The CFIA S&A Bargaining Team
