CFIA S&A Group Bargaining update # 5
The S&A bargaining team met with the employer’s bargaining team for a second round of bargaining on March 6-8, 2012. During this round of bargaining, your bargaining team presented their pay proposal and the employer countered with theirs on the last day of bargaining. During these three days of bargaining progress was made on a few minor issues, however, there is a wide gap between the employer’s pay proposal and that of the union. No further bargaining is scheduled at this point as both parties are exploring their options. We will keep you informed on any new development in the near future.
If the parties cannot come to an agreement, the dispute resolution mechanism will be arbitration.
