CS Group - Bargaining Update # 17
To All proud CS Members
Your Bargaining Team met with the Employer on April 5th and 6th 2016 and separately on the 7th to discuss and prepare for the next round.
During this session, your Team used an Interest Based Bargaining approach which is a slightly different way of negotiating. All those present at the bargaining table openly expressed their opinion and concerns on our key issues; Contracting Out, Training and Career Development. This process allowed both sides the opportunity of a frank discussion with the view to finding solutions.
It was clear that the employer is of the opinion that any proscribed limits on contracting of work would somehow constrain departments in the provision of CS Work. We do not share that opinion. At the end of the session, your bargaining team considers these frank discussions were a small step in the right direction however, will continue to pursue all avenues to achieve our goals.

Sick Leave and a short term disability plan were not topics of discussion during this session.
At this time we wish to express our appreciation for the of support we received during this session. Our next dates for bargaining are May 2, 3, 4 and 5 and further dates are already planned for June.
