Dear fellow CS Group members,

I am running for the position of Vice-President of the CS Group National Executive and am asking for your support.

  • Vice-President since 2013
  • Regular member of the Executive since 2007
  • Bargaining Team member in the last round of negotiations
  • President of the Ottawa-Metro CS Sub-Group
  • CS Group member of PIPSC for 15 years
  • PIPSC Steward since 2007
  • Active member of the consultation team at Shared Services Canada
  • Steward involved in various PIPSC and CS Group activities

Since being elected to the Executive in 2007, I have had the privilege of serving as a Classification Officer, Sub-Group Officer and Co-chair of the National Organizing Committee (NOC-ROC). I have worked on the various projects associated with each of those positions. I am proud to have helped develop generic job descriptions and new definition of the Group, in addition to participating in the annual general meeting of the CS Sub-Group Presidents.

Since my appointment as the CS Group’s Vice-President in 2013, I have had the pleasure of representing, discussing, debating, and listening to members, at both formal and informal events. I have also had a chance to work with the Group’s new President, Stan Buday, who has given me great advice.

As a member of the Bargaining Team for the last round of negotiations, I found the work challenging . Despite more than 35 information sessions in 18 months, we had to accept reality, and the loss of our terminable allowance was not easy to swallow. I would like to continue the work I have begun in order to better safeguard our interests and protect our collective agreement.

My union activities, as well as my participation in PIPSC AGMs, CS Group AGMs, Regional Councils and Steward Councils have been opportunities for me to provide input, which from time to time does not go unnoticed.

I enjoy representing and defending our Group’s interests before the PIPSC Advisory Council.

Since last summer, I have been an active member of the Shared Services Canada consultation team for the National Capital Region. It is not always a pleasant job, but we need to do our best to defend our members’ interests.

Unlike private companies, I strongly believe in the public sector. I also believe that, as public service employees, we should always strive for absolute success when it comes to providing services.
