THE HOUSE OF COMMONS PROCEDURAL CLERKS AND ANALYSIS AND REFERENCE BARGAINING UNIT IS GOING TO ARBITRATION
The Bargaining Team met with the Employer in December 2012 and in January 2013. While the Employer proposed the removal of severance pay, upon voluntary departure, it was unwilling to address any of the issues of concern presented on behalf of the members. Severance Pay is a benefit worth 2% of your salary per year of service, up to a maximum of 30 weeks pay upon departure. Since nothing of comparable value was offered in lieu of the severance pay, no agreement was reached. The Institute will ask the Public Service Labour Relations Board to arbitrate. Once a date is set for the arbitration, it will be posted here.
