Subject: Ratification of tentative agreement

Your bargaining team is pleased to announce that following several meetings with the Employer between January 20, 2015 and September 10, 2015, a tentative agreement was reached for the renewal of the collective agreement. Both sides were very pleased with the bargaining process.

Among the proposed amendments to the collective agreement are vastly improved clauses on Reassignment/Layoff/Recall (Article 17), Acting assignment, Temporary assignment, and Secondments (Article 20), and Retirement Allowance (Article 36).

There are also improvements to the Health and Safety clause (Article 34) and the Stand By provision (Article 44).

The proposed General Economic Increase is 7.75% over 5 years and 3 months, including a 2.5% wage adjustment at the end of the contract.

Several editorial changes were made to the collective agreement but are not included in this document.

Members will be able to vote electronically from October 13 to October 16 at 5 pm (Ottawa time). Every member will receive a personal PIN shortly. Votes will be confidential and results will be announced shortly after.

We believe that the tentative agreement outlined below is the best settlement we could get in this round of bargaining. We are strongly encouraging members to vote YES to ratify the deal.
