NEB Bargaining Update

Your bargaining team met with the NEB on June 12 and 13, 2012 for negotiations towards the renewal of the collective agreement. The parties achieved agreement in principle on an Essential Services Agreement, which identifies services that are maintained in the event of a work stoppage should the parties not be able to reach an agreement through bargaining. Your team also presented a comprehensive and detailed pay proposal. Since Treasury Board has not approved a mandate for the NEB following the decision to defer implementation of the new Job Evaluation System, the NEB was not able to respond to the Union's monetary proposal. The parties will schedule another bargaining session in late summer or early fall to continue negotiations.
