NR Arbitral Award Update

Further to our recent e-mail saying that TB was intending to challenge the Arbitral Award on the topic of payment of Professional Dues, we have recently been served with the Employer’s Application for Judicial Review relating to that aspect of the arbitral award. Treasury Board has in fact served notice requesting Judicial Review. Treasury Board has not asked for a Stay in the implementation of the award.

In simple terms, the aspects of the Arbitration Award including Pay (and retroactive payments) and Travel time will be applied, as will the implementation of payment of the Professional Dues article. On the latter, Treasury Board is reviewing Bill C-10 and the NR Arbitral Award to determine how they will proceed in light of its Judicial Review application.
