NR BARGAINING UPDATE JUNE 9, 2009
NR Group Arbitral Award/Contract Update
The results of the NR Arbitral Award are now in effect (and have been since April 22, 2009), namely, you now get 15 hours of travel time when going outside North America, and your professional fees are paid. On the latter, when you have paid your fees for 2009 (not retroactive to 2008), submit your receipt to your employer for reimbursement.
Regarding pay - the 2.3%/1.5%/1.5%/1.5% increase applies only to your salary. The Recruitment and Retention Allowance will remain to the latest amount shown in Annex E of the last contract. The contract now runs until September 30, 2011.
The balance of the contract as agreed to during negotiations (these were basically technical changes such as converting 'days' to 'hours' in the text).
The Work Force Adjustment (WFA) provisions updated as of February 2, 2009 are now included in the NR Contract as is the change to the Grievance Process (going from 4 levels of hearings to 3 levels).
The NR Negotiation Team is embarking on a 'Know Your Contract' campaign to inform members of what is in the contract, and examine the local 'shortcuts' being taken by various departments - this will be conducted through your local NR Sub-Group. Keep an eye out for announcements.
