NRC IS Bargaining Arbitration Update #3
Our application for arbitration has been completed, however the Union has raised a preliminary objection which has delayed the process. The preliminary objection concerns NRC submission of articles for arbitration that concern staffing. The Employer has proposed to delete all the staffing provisions in the collective agreement. In the Union’s view this is prohibited by the Public Service Labour Relations Act. The Union and Employer have completed arguments on this matter and are awaiting a decision of the Public Service Labour Relations Board. Once this decision is made we will be able to proceed with the appointment of an arbitrator and the hearing.
