NRC-LS GROUP BARGAINING UPDATE - JANUARY 24, 2008
The NRC-LS Group Bargaining Team met with the employer bargaining team on January 22 to exchange proposals. Each side will respond to the other's proposals when bargaining continues on April 29 and 30. Salary proposals have not yet been exchanged. These will be tabled later on in the bargaining process.
Your Bargaining Team's proposals include: improvements to vacation leave and family-related leave, employer payment of professional fees, credit for unused sick leave, and the establishment of a generic 37.5 hours one-time leave entitlement in lieu of marriage leave.
Your Team also tabled a proposal to establish a graduated leave prior to retirement (Pre-Retirement Transition Leave) and advised the employer we will be tabling proposals at a future date to improve the pension plan.
