  • Preparations for the WFA bargaining terminated after the announcement of the Treasury Board decision to restructure CISTI, but resumed in the fall of 2010 with proposals exchanged in December.

  • In 2007, NRC laid off a good number of their staff. PIPSC argued with NRC that their refusal to allow the laid-off employees to work their notice period was a misinterpretation of the WFA policy.

  • The recent discussions between PIPSC and the NRC about the inclusion in the vacation carry-over cap of the one-time entitlement vacation leave did not resolve the issue.

  • Due to the fact that NRC is unable at the present time to officially announce the reorganization of CISTI, the joint meeting of RCEA and PIPSC scheduled for Wednesday, September 30, 2009 from 09:00 to 12:00 hrs. has been cancelled.

  • After President Pierre Coulombe announced last February that some NRC institutes would undergo work force adjustment, PIPSC, as provided in the Work Force Adjustment Policy, participated in several meetings, with the goal of ensuring the greatest possible transparency in the process.

  • The IS/TR bargaining team met with the employer on May 1 and 2, 2008. These were the first days of real bargaining, the parties having first met on January 23 to exchange proposals.
