RE Group Going to Arbitration

Spring 2012

The RE Bargaining Team met with the employer in mediation last November 29^th. The employer was unwilling to address long standing pay issues at the same time as proposing the removal of severance pay. Since no agreement was reached, the RE Group will be arguing its case in Arbitration on October 2 and 3, 2012. The Arbitration will be before Arbitrator Ian Mackenzie and the RE Group Sides-person will be Bob Luce. Mr. Luce has a long history in the labour movement and the RE bargaining team will be meeting with him in September to finalize their arbitral presentation.
