Paul Hesch

Thank you for considering me as your representative to the SH group executive during the upcoming elections.

As a Registered Nurse since 1987 I have worked in Ontario and in Manitoba. Initially working at the Hospital for Sick Children in the pediatric intensive care, I then transitioned into management for the next 21 years. Holding positions of manager, director, regional nurse specialist and regional director in the hospital, long term care and legal fields I decided to return to working on the front lines.

In 2011 I was hired by an agency and worked many of the reserves in Northern Manitoba. In 2012 I joined Health Canada in the Sioux Lookout Zone. My initial assignment was as a CHN 3 in Muskrat Dam and then transitioned into the NIC role. In 2015 I made the move to Summer Beaver where I am currently the Nurse in Charge [0.5 FTE]. During my tenure I have also provided NIC support to other nursing stations requiring assistance, assisted colleagues with HRG and computerization in the Region.

I am currently a member at large for the SH group in Sioux Lookout Zone, attend Labour Management meetings, a member of the strategic advisory group for IT and am a union steward. I have also been invited to join 'a working group lead by Deputy Sonny Peron, looking at the security issues facing the nurses in the north.

My unique careers affords me a management and front line experiences that can be used as an executive members of the SH group/PIPSC. It would be my privilege to represent you in the upcoming election.
