Sunnybrook SUN-MET Arbitral Award (August 18, 2015)
On August 18, 2015 an arbitral award was issued establishing a new collective agreement between the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and for the SUN-MET Group represented by the Professional Institute.
Highlight of award:
Article 15.01 Bereavement leave
Add: brother-in-law, sister-in-law.
Article 20 Vacations
Add: As of September 29,2014 employees with more than twenty-eight (28) years of completed continuous service shall be entitled to accrue 2,921 days vacation with pay per full calendar month of completed service to a maximum of annual vacations of seven (7) weeks (35) days with pay at their regular straight time hourly rate of pay.
Article 21 Health and Welfare Benefits
Increase the amount for eye glasses from $200.00 to $300.00
Add to subsection (e) the dental Plan shall provide for crowns, bridgework and repair to fifteen hundred ($1500.00) annual maximum.
Article 16 Sick Leave
Add subsection (f) No sick pay benefit is payable for the first fifteen (15) hours of absence for the sixth (6th) and subsequent period(s) of absence in the same fiscal year (April 1st through March 31st).
Article 21.01 b) Extended Health Care
Add the Extended Health Care Plan provide for a cap of $9.00 on the reimbursement for the dispensing fee in the filling of a prescription. Reimbursement for the prescribe drugs covered by the Plan will be based on the cost of the lowest priced therapeutically equivalent generic of the drug unless there is a documented adverse reaction in the generic drug.
