Wawrykow et al. v. CRA
Pursuant to article 45.08 of their former collective agreement, PIPSC AFS members were entitled to receive a lump-sum performance bonus subject to the eligibility conditions established at the discretion of their employer, the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).

Lance Rogers v. CRA
The PSLREB has ordered an Institute member with 35 years of services retroactively re-instated with full salary and benefits along with an order for $15,000 in pain and suffering and $10,000 for wilful and reckless conduct against the CRA.

On September 13, 2013, the Institute filed a policy grievance in relation to a Collective Bargaining Bulletin issued by the Canada Revenue Agency (“CRA”) related to article 17.21.

2008 Expenditure Restraint Act (ERA)
The Ontario Court of Appeal (OCA) issued its decision in relation to the Institute's (and the PSAC's) constitutional challenge to the 2008 Expenditure Restraint Act (ERA) that imposed wage increase limits on the federal public service. We were unsuccessful in our appeal.

Auditors transferred from B.C. credited with provincial years of service for purposes of severance pay
The Federal Court of Appeal has upheld a decision of an adjudicator ordering the CRA to give auditors transferred from the B.C. provincial government full credit for their years of service with the province when calculating severance pay.

This case involves an appeal of a Federal Court decision that quashed an order made by a labour adjudicator regarding the right of a member of PIPSC to request a personal day off as per article 17.21 of the Collective Agreement.

Hicks v. HRSDC (family status discrimination - eldercare)
In its first decision recognizing eldercare as the basis for family status discrimination, the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal found that HRSDC engaged in "wilful and reckless" discrimination and awarded more than $35,000 to a retired PIPSC member.
