The hearing of the appeal on Justice Kane's ruling on the injunction application will be heard by the Federal Court of Appeal on May 31, 2016 commencing at 9:30 at the Supreme Court of Canada building.

On September 22, 2015, the Federal Court issued its decision on the Institute's motion for an injunction to prevent the Treasury Board from implementing its Security Screening Policy.

On July 8, 2015, the Federal Court heard the Institute’s motion for an interlocutory injunction seeking to prevent the Treasury Board from implementing its new Standard on Security Screening.

On April 17, 2015, the Institute filed in Federal Court an application for an injunction to prevent the Treasury Board from implementing its new Reliability Screening Policy. The Institute seeks the injunction to prevent irreparable harm to members’ privacy rights.

As previously indicated, the Institute filed a policy grievance on the implementation of Treasury Board's new Reliability Screening Policy. 
 
Treasury Board’s New Reliability Screening Policy

On October 20, 2014, the Treasury Board repealed its Personnel Security Standard and replaced it with a new version that is potentially privacy invasive. The new standard requires, among other things, credit and criminal record verifications.
