A Legacy of Giving $507,500 and counting
The Institute’s tradition of awarding scholarships began in 1999 with a generous endowment by Institute members to form a scholarship fund. This fund is held in an interest-bearing account and the interest is awarded as Founders’ Fund scholarships each year. In 2004, this program was expanded with two new series of scholarships sponsored by generous contributions from corporate partners in the community.
Meanwhile, in 2002 the inaugural PIPSC Open charity golf tournament was held. The PIPSC Open quickly became a favourite in the labour relations community. Eight tournaments later, sponsors and participants have contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to children’s charities.
Taken together, the Institute has generated over a half million dollars for young Canadians.
