Federal Budget: Members Show Their Solidarity on March 1, 2012

On Thursday, March 1st at 12 noon, PIPSC members showed solidarity with their fellow public service employees in downtown Ottawa and in communities across Canada, sending a strong message to the Harper Conservatives as they prepare to bring down the 2012 federal budget on March 29th.

Together with other speakers, PIPSC Vice-President Shannon Bittman addressed the resolute public servants who braved the stormy weather to stand up for their values.

The federal government is promising to cut the public services Canadians rely on.

These cuts will hurt, not help, our economy. They could lead to the loss of up to 100,000 public and private sector jobs.

This Conservative austerity plan will have a devastating impact on families and communities across Canada.

In the coming days and weeks, please visit the PIPSC website often to keep informed of our activities related to the 2012 federal budget.
