In Memoriam: James F. Mazerall (1921-2015)

It is with great sadness that the Institute learned that Mr. James F. Mazerall passed away on November 19, 2015.

Re-elected twice as President of the Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada, Mr. Mazerall served as President from 1966 to 1967.

A member of the Topographical Engineers Group, he resigned from the public service at the end of 1967.

He then served as Secretary-Treasurer of the Institute during the 1960s and 1970s, and put in place the administrative structure to support the transformation of the Professional Institute from an association of professionals to a certified labour union when the government passed the Public Service Staff Relations Act in 1967.

The Institute extends its condolences to Jim’s family and to the many friends who were privileged to know him.

Condolences and memories can be expressed online.
