National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence against Women

December 6, 2015 marked the 26th Anniversary of the 1989 Montreal massacre where 14 women were murdered at Montreal’s École Polytechnique. It is also the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.

The NR group wishes to recognize that theses 14 women were killed for being women. They were killed for choosing to enter a technical field of study. These women were training to be Engineers and could have easily become members of PIPSC.

The NR group encourages every member to take a moment to reflect on the tragic events of December 6th and to help end violence against women.

(The posting of this announcement was delayed due to the PIPSC office closure, December 2-4.)
