Announcement: Flood situation in the National Capital region - Federal building closures

With the flood situation continuing to worsen in many regions of Ontario and Quebec, our top priority is the safety and security of our employees, and those in our community. The latest information available indicates there is the potential for more local flooding and road closures, which may result in evacuations in some areas or significant delays on the roads over the next few days.

In order to reduce traffic congestion and allow emergency services to help those in need, employees who normally travel over the interprovincial bridges should stay home Monday.

In addition, all federal buildings in Gatineau will be closed Monday.

Updates will be provided as soon as they become available.

Managers are encouraged to work with employees affected by the flooding on flexible work arrangements.

Please visit the Quebec Transport and Ontario Transport websites for regular updates.

If employees have any questions or concerns on the above, they should speak with their managers. Managers who require advice or clarification should contact their Labour Relations Advisor.
