  • President Gary Corbett delivered the report on the Institute’s Legacy Foundation, a charitable organization which brings together under one roof the scholarship program and charity golf tournament. Since 1999, through these two programs, the Institute has generated more than $627,000 to help young Canadians succeed.

  • Mathieu Ravignat, MP for the constituency of Pontiac in the National Capital Region, addressed the AGM delegates on the value of the public service and the risk to Canadians of the cuts to the public service. He discussed the short-sightedness of the current government in taking the decision to sell off Atomic Energy of Canada’s CANDU reactor division.

  • At the 2010 AGM delegates raised questions about affiliation with the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC) that could not be fully dealt with in the time allotted. In particular, delegates were interested in clarifying the terms and the costs of affiliation. Delegates made the decision to refer the issue to the Board of Directors.
