Deer Lodge Centre - Medicine Preparations for bargaining have begun. Deer Lodge Centre - Nursing A Memorandum of Settlement was reached on June 24, 2008. Ratification meetings were held July 17 and 18, 2008. Economic increases: effective October 1, 2007: 4.8%; October 1, 2008: 5.2%. Organization of Professional Engineers Employed by the Province of Manitoba (OPEEPM) Economic increases: effective March 18, 2006: 2.5%; March 17, 2007: 2.5%; March 15, 2008: 2.5%; March 14, 2009: 2.9%. The OPEEPM Group held its Annual General Meeting on June 5, 2008. At this meeting, the Group thanked retiring Group President Glenn Cuthbertson, who resigned his position as Group President when he accepted the position of Director of the Traffic Engineering Branch of the Manitoba Infrastructure and Transportation Department. Glenn had been Group President for more than 10 years. To thank him for his efforts, the Group members presented Glenn with a leather jacket. The Group Executive is composed of President John Arthur, Vice President John Harris, Treasurer Harald Larsen, Secretary Ken Rakhra, and Member-at-Large Reema Mustajab. Thunder Bay Radiation Therapists A new collective agreement was ratified in July 2008 and is now in effect. It provides for salary increases of 3% in each of the four years of the agreement, retroactive to October 1, 2007. Vacations were improved to 5 weeks after 13 years and 6 weeks after 22 years. Disability Insurance Plan premiums, previously paid 100% by employees, will be split on a 50/50 basis immediately, with the employer assuming 75% of the premiums as of October 1, 2010. Improvements were also made to the dental plan and bereavement leave. Windsor Radiation Therapists Notice to bargain was served on the Windsor Regional Hospital on July 4, 2008.
