  • The Public Service Commission report on the government’s use of temporary help services, released on October 5, affirms the long-standing claim of the Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada (PIPSC) that the government is creating a permanent, parallel public-service workforce with limited rights and transparency to Canadians.

  • PIPSC represents four Groups under the Ontario Labour Relations Act - three local bargaining units of Radiation Therapists in Cancer Centres at the Toronto-Sunnybrook, Windsor and Thunder Bay Hospitals, and one province-wide unit of Medical Physicists working at ten Regional Cancer Centres.

  • John Benbow called the 64th Ontario Regional Council meeting to order at 1:20 p.m. He welcomed all old and new delegates, thanked his fellow Regional Executive members for their support, guest speaker Crystal Stewart, ERO Toronto, Heather Yates, Office Administrator and Lee Oliver, Administrative Assistant .
