North-Eastern Alberta Branch Report

The Branch Executive met four (4) times since September 2008. Planning for the Christmas Get-together and the Annual General Meeting were on the agenda as were updates on bargaining.

Three of the stewards attended the Regional Labour School in March. Two stewards attended the Regional Steward Council in April 2009.

The North-Eastern Alberta Branch held it’s annual general assembly on June 11, 2009. The Branch was pleased to have as their guests, Mr. Robert Hunter, our Director and Mr. Gary Corbett, Acting President from Ottawa.

Ms. Jennifer Carr and Ms. Deborah Greyeyes were presented with their 5 year steward pins by Mr. Robert Hunter.

Elections were held for Chair, the Secretary Treasurer and one (1) Member-at-Large. Ms. Deborah Greyeyes, Ms. Marie Cardinal and Ms. Karen Shelton were re-elected to these offices.

The Branch also had a second get-together in December 2008 and the event was well attended by members and spouses. Mr. Jeffrey Ryder, ERO from our Edmonton office was a guest at this get-together. We were gratified to have his attendance as he lives in this area.
