WFA INFORMATION SESSION

TO: Saskatoon Branch Members

DATE: Tuesday June 5

TIME: 6:30 p.m.

LOC: ANAVETS Club (Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans in Canada)
Lower Level – 359 1st Avenue North Saskatoon

The PIPSC Saskatoon Branch is sponsoring a Workforce Adjustment Session on the evening of Tuesday, June 5th commencing at 6:30 p.m. at the ANAVETS Club. A special presentation on Workforce Adjustment will be made by Neil Harden, Employee Relations Officer, PIPSC Prairies Northwest Territories Office, Winnipeg, and the Regional Representative for PIPSC on the national WFA Institute Committee.

The Saskatoon Branch Executive realizes there has been turmoil and uncertainty in many public offices since the recent budget came down. Many colleagues in our branch have already received affected letters. To help those individuals understand their entitlements, as well as to inform and educate the rest of our members about WFA procedures, we are pleased to offer the above information session. We strongly encourage our PIPSC members to attend this session, as WFA is a complicated subject. It is important that our members have a good understanding prior to being affected.

For your information, a Lunch and Learn was considered being held with this subject as topic. However, it was felt that questions could not be answered in a one hour lunch session. An evening session has therefore been planned that will offer no time constraints, plenty of parking, and accommodation for more than 200 individuals.

Light refreshments will be offered. To ensure sufficient refreshments, please indicate your intention to attend with an email to pipsctoon@gmail.com. If you are responding for a number of people in your workplace, please indicate that as well. We look forward to seeing you there.
