Attend the April 27, 2013 rally in Montreal Organized by the Coalition québécoise contre la réforme de l’assurance-emploi
The Coalition québécoise contre la réforme de l’assurance-emploi (Quebec coalition against employment insurance reform) has come up with a large-scale provincial mobilization plan to counter the gutting of employment insurance by the Stephen Harper Conservatives. Since the announcement of its creation on March 4, 2013, several groups have joined the Coalition.
Under the Budget Implementation Act (C-38) introduced in spring 2012, a series of EI measures were adopted and have substantially changed many aspects of the plan, even removing some of the procedures and historic protections.
The Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada, through its Quebec Regional Executive, has decided to become part of this mobilization and is therefore encouraging all of its members in the Montréal metropolitan area to join the movement denouncing these measures, specifically through a large demonstration.
The rally will take place in Montréal on April 27. Participants will gather at the corner of Peel Street and René-Lévesque Boulevard (Place du Canada) at noon and start to march at 1:15 p.m. Join us under the PIPSC banner for this event.
Support your regional executive and the workers who will be seriously affected by this reform by confirming your attendance and signing up with one of your stewards.
