On March 11, 1969, the Professional Institute of the Public Service was certified as the bargaining agent for the CS Group by the Public Service Staff Relations Board with less than 1000 members in the group.

The CS Group broke new ground in 1991 when it became the first major PIPSC group to go on strike and to push for the development of a Strike Fund. They received much attention from national media, but were ordered back to work and had a settlement imposed.

First I would like to say that I am very pleased to see the return of the CS Group newsletter. The Group has relied upon individual postings, notices, surveys and bargaining updates in CS Bytes over the past few years. We hope to continue with timely announcements and information while providing a broader overview and knowledge pieces in regularly published newsletters.

The Elections Committee is requesting nominations for these positions. Such nominations must include the candidate’s name (printed) and signature accepting the nomination, as well as the position for which the candidate is being nominated. Nominations must also include the name and signature of at least three (3) members of the CS Group.
